Deep Unmasking of Isaiah Chapter 14 & The Evil King of Babylon

Published on 5 February 2025 at 17:16

Who is this evil King of Babylon in Isaiah Chapter 14?

Some have claimed that Isaiah Chapter 14 is about Satan but is just about Satan or much, much, more?

Who is this evil King of Babylon in Isaiah Chapter 14? – Some have claimed that Isaiah Chapter 14 is about Satan but is that really the case?

Most, if not all of us who have come into the Christian faith were taught that Isaiah Chapter 14 refers to Lucifer.

Passages are taken from the chapter to justify the ‘so called’ accuracy of that belief. The truth of the matter is that it is indeed a belief that has come from somewhere.

However, have we ever stopped to ask ourselves where did that belief come from? Is it actually true according to scripture? Those who actually teach this are simply regurgitating what they have been taught.

Today, I am going to demonstrate to you by the power of the Ruach Ha’Qodesh (Holy Spirit) the true understanding of Isaiah Chapter 14.  Isaiah Chapter 14 is a much deeper, deeper, work of Yahuah.

By the end of this article, you will clearly see:

- What Isaiah Chapter 14 is truly about?

- Who is the blasphemous king of Isaiah Chapter 14?

- Where did the term Lucifer come from?

Before we go deep, I want to give all the esteem and praise to Yahuah for it is ONLY by His RUACH (spirit) that I was able to go deep into this Chapter and break it down to have come to this knowledge of truth.

I enquired of Yahuah and sought him for wisdom and understanding and the truth revealed here is all by the power and guidance of the Ruach Ha’Qodesh.

Since revealing these various truths to the community, I have been under heavy spiritual attack, but Yahusha is my protector always. Please intercede for me, as I too continue to intercede for you and the saints.

You can also find a full video teaching on this subject by CLICKING HERE. I invite you to read this article and to also watch the video where we engage in a deep study of the scriptures together.

Isaiah Chapter 14, which I invite you to pause and read right now, can be categorized into the following three parts.

  1. Isaiah Chapter 14 verse 1 to 3 – presents Yahuah’s declaration
  2. Isaiah Chapter 14 verse 4 to 27 – addresses the blasphemous King of Babylon.
  3. Isaiah Chapter 14 verse 28 to 32 - discloses the Serpent and the Fiery Flying Serpent.

However, in order to Unmask Isaiah Chapter 14 & the Evil King of Babylon, we will need to address it in a different order, as you will soon discover that understanding the prophecy of the Serpent and the Fiery Flying Serpent is key to unveiling who is this blasphemous king in Isaiah Chapter 14.

Thus, this article is structured as follows:

Part 1 – Yahuah’s Declaration

Part 2 – The blasphemous words of the blasphemous king

Part 3 – The Serpent and the Fiery Flying Serpent

Part 4 – The blasphemous king, whom the KJV termed Lucifer, revealed

Part 5 – Where did the term Lucifer come from?

Part 6 - City of Babylon Destroyed

Part 1 –  Yahuah’s Declaration

The first three verses of Isaiah Chapter 14 (v1-3) deals with a future prophecy. This is a declaration made by Yahuah.

I invite you to read the scriptures in conjunction with this article, for you can only get the FULL UNDERSTANDING through Elohiym's word. There are some proponents on the internet who argue that this prophecy has already been fulfilled by King Cyrus.

However, I am going to reveal to you, by the scriptures, that this actually refers to a future prophecy, and has therefore not yet been fulfilled.

Here are some key excerpts from Isaiah Chapter 14:1-3.

- “Yahuah will set the children of Israel in their own land

- The strangers shall be joined with them and they shall cleave to the house of Ya’aqov (Jacob)

- The children of Israel will take captives, those who took them captives and they shall rule over their oppressors

- In that day, they will have rest from their sorrow and from the hard bondage wherein they were made to serve”

Now, we are going to answer the question. Was the above fulfilled by king Cyrus?

To answer this question, we will refer to the book of Ezra. Again, I invite you to read the scriptures, as I am unable to insert them in their totality here. However, I will provide you with some excerpts.

A. Yahuah stirs up the Ruach of Koresh (Cyrus)

King Cyrus was chosen by Yahuah to deliver the children of Israel from bondage and to instigate the rebuilding of the second temple.

The Kingdom of Judah fell into the hands of king Nebuchadnezzar and they were brought down into captivity.

Yahuah then raised up king Cyrus at the appointed time to deliver them from captivity and to make the proclamation to initiate the rebuilding of the second temple.

Please refer to 1 Ezra 1:2-3:

"Thus says Koresh king of Persia, Yahuah Elohai (Yahuah my Elohiym) of heaven has given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he has charged me to build him a house at Yerushalayim (Jerusalem), which is in Yahudah. Who is there among you of all his people? His Elohiym be with him, and let him go up to Yerushalayim, which is in Yahudah (Judah), and build the house of Yahuah Elohai of Yashar’el, (he is the Elohiym,) which is in Yerushalayim". EZRA V’NECHEMYAHU (EZRA) 1:2-3

B. Yahuah also stirred up two anointed olive trees for the rebuilding of the second temple.

It is important to understand that the rebuilding of the second temple, is nothing like you or me (with all due respect) hiring labourers to renovate our home or build an addition to it.

This was Yahuah’s Holy Place where he had chosen to put His Name and for His glory to dwell. Thus, anyone that will be involved in the building of His Temple MUST be chosen by Yahuah.

Although, no building, nor even the heaven of heaven’s can contain Him; yet, he chose to put His Name there. So, Yahuah, also stirred up two anointed olive trees for the rebuilding of the second temple.

On your spare time, I invite you to read Zechariah Chapter 3 and Chapter 4 (Please note that there is also a double prophecy in these chapters which also refers to Yahusha). For now, see the few excerpts below.

B (i) The first anointed one to rebuild his second temple is Yahusha, the high priest:

"AND he showed me Yahusha the high priest standing before the angel of Yahuah, and Satan standing at his right hand to accuse him.

And Yahuah said unto Satan, Yahuah rebuke you, O Satan; even Yahuah that has chosen Yerushalayim rebuke you: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?

Now Yahusha was clothed with filthy garments, and stood before the angel. And he answered and spoke unto those that stood before him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from him.

And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused your iniquity to pass from you, and I will clothe you with change of raiment. And I said, Let them set a fair turban upon his head.

So, they set a fair turban upon his head, and clothed him with garments. And the angel of Yahuah stood by.

And the angel of Yahuah protested unto Yahusha, saying, Thus, says Yahuah Tseva'oth (Yahuah of Hosts); If you will walk in my ways, and if you will guard my watch, then you shall also judge my house, and shall also guard my courts, and I will give you places to walk among these that stand by". ZAKARYAHU (ZECHARIAH) 3:1-7 את CEPHER

Here we have Yahusha, the high priest, who was delivered from Babylonian captivity and went to Jerusalem with Zerubbabel, to rebuild the second temple.

However, there is also a double prophecy, because Yahusha, the Son of Elohiym, who is now our High Priest after the order of Melchizedek, has come and because of Him, today, our bodies are the temple of the Ruach Ha’Qodesh.

B (ii) The second anointed one to rebuild the temple is Zerubbabel

Here, you can refer to the book of Zechariah Chapter 4.

"AND the angel that talked with me came again, and waked me, as a man that is wakened out of his sleep, And said unto me, What do you see? And I said, I have looked, and behold a menorah all of gold, with a bowl upon the top of it, and his seven lamps thereon, and seven pipes to the seven lamps, which are upon the top thereof:

And two olive trees by it, one upon the right side of the bowl, and the other upon the left side thereof. So I answered and spoke to the angel that talked with me, saying, What are these, my adoniy?

Then the angel that talked with me answered and said unto me, Know you not what these be? And I said, No, my adoniy. Then he answered and spoke unto me, saying, This is the Word of Yahuah unto Zerubbavel (Zerubbabel), saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my Ruach (Spirit), says Yahuah Tseva'oth.

Who are you, O great mountain? before Zerubbavel you shall become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it.

Moreover, the Word of Yahuah came unto me, saying, The hands of Zerubbavel have laid the foundation of this house; his hands shall also finish it; and you shall know that Yahuah Tseva'oth has sent me unto you. ZAKARYAHU (ZECHARIAH) 4:1-9 את CEPHER

Then answered I, and said unto him, What are these two olive trees upon the right side of the menorah and upon the left side thereof?

And I answered again, and said unto him, What be these two olive branches which through the two golden pipes empty the golden oil out of themselves? And he answered me and said, Know you not what these be?

And I said, No, my adoniy. Then said he, These are the two anointed ones, that stand by the Adonai of the whole earth". ZAKARYAHU (ZECHARIAH) 4:11-14 את CEPHER

You can also read the above verse in Zechariah in the amplified (ampc) version. By the conclusion of Zechariah Chapter 4, we have the confirmation of these two anointed ones Zerubbabel and Joshua the High Priest who have received the special anointing from Yahuah for the rebuilding of his second temple and it was not by might, now by power, but by the Ruach of Yahuah.

Now, would you like some proof that these two anointed ones went to Jerusalem to do as Yahuah has said?

The answer is found in the passages below.

"NOW these are the children of the province that went up out of the captivity, of those which had been carried away, whom Nevukadne'tstsar the king of Babel had carried away unto Babel, and came again unto Yerushalayim and Yahudah, everyone unto his city;

Which came with Zerubbavel (Zerubbabel): Yeshua (Yahusha), Nechemyahu, Serayahu, Re`elayah, Mordekai, Bilshan, Micpar, Bigvai, Rechum, Ba`anah. The number of the men of the people of Yashar'el: EZRA V'NECHEMYAHU (EZRA) 2:1-2 את CEPHER

The whole assembly together was forty and two thousand three hundred and threescore, EZRA V'NECHEMYAHU (EZRA) 2:64 את CEPHER

AND when the seventh month was come, and the children of Yashar'el were in the cities, the people gathered themselves together as one man to Yerushalayim.

Then stood up Yahusha the son of Yahutsadaq, and his brethren the priests, and Zerubbavel the son of She'altiy'el, and his brethren, and built the altar of the Elohiym of Yashar'el, to offer ascending smoke offerings thereon, as it is written in the Torah of Mosheh the man of Elohiym. EZRA V'NECHEMYAHU (EZRA) 3:1-2 את CEPHER

From the first day of the seventh month began they to offer ascending smoke offerings unto Yahuah. But the foundation of the Temple of Yahuah was not yet laid.

They gave money also unto the masons, and to the carpenters; and meat, and drink, and oil, unto them of Tsiydon (Zion), and to them of Tsor, to bring cedar trees from Lebanon to the sea of Yapho, according to the grant that they had of Koresh king of Persia.

Now in the second year of their coming unto the house of Elohiym at Yerushalayim, in the second month, began Zerubbavel the son of She'altiy'el, and Yahusha the son of Yahutsadaq, and the remnant of their brethren the priests and the Leviyiym, and all they that were come out of the captivity unto Yerushalayim; and appointed the Leviyiym, from twenty years old and upward, to set forward the work of the house of Yahuah". EZRA V'NECHEMYAHU (EZRA) 3:6-8 את CEPHER

As you continue to read the books of Ezra, you will discover in more detail all that went into the rebuilding of the second Temple.

One of my favourite scriptures in that account is when they first celebrated the Feast of Tabernacles (Cukkoth) in the 7th month of the 2nd year when they laid the foundation of the temple.

The scripture reveals the shout of joy of the people and also the cry from those who were around in the time of the first temple.

"And they sang together by course in praising and giving thanks unto Yahuah; because he is good, for his mercy endures forever toward Yashar'el.

And all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised Yahuah, because the foundation of the house of Yahuah was laid.

But many of the priests and Leviyiym and chief of the fathers, who were ancient men, that had seen the first house, when the foundation of this house was laid before their eyes, wept with a loud voice; and many shouted aloud for joy:

So that the people could not discern the noise of the shout of joy from the noise of the weeping of the people: for the people shouted with a loud shout, and the noise was heard afar off". EZRA V'NECHEMYAHU (EZRA) 3:11-13 את CEPHER

However, how do we know that Isaiah Chapter 14 was a future prophecy and not one that is fulfilled by Cyrus, as is seen all over the internet?

The answer is found by digging deeper into the account of the rebuilding of the second temple. The book of Ezra reveals that when the adversaries of Israel heard that they were rebuilding the temple, they began to frustrate their purpose.

As a matter of fact, the children of Israel did not have peace as is stated in Isaiah Chapter 14:3; nor did they rule over their oppressors or take their captives, captive (v2).

Instead, their enemies conspired and went through great lengths to stop the rebuilding of Elohiym’s temple.

"NOW when the adversaries of Yahudah (Judah) and Binyamiyn (Banjamin) heard that the children of the captivity built the Temple unto Yahuah Elohiym of Yashar'el;

Then they came to Zerubbavel, and to the chief of the fathers, and said unto them, Let us build with you: for we seek your Elohiym, as ye do; and we do sacrifice unto him since the days of Ecar-Chaddon king of Ashshur, which brought us up hither.

But Zerubbavel (Zerubbabel), and Yeshua (Yahusha), and the rest of the chief of the fathers of Yashar'el, said unto them, Ye have nothing to do with us to build a house unto our Elohiym; but we ourselves together will build unto Yahuah Elohiym of Yashar'el, as king Koresh (Cyrus) the king of Persia has commanded us.

Then the people of the land weakened the hands of the people of Yahudah, and troubled them in building, And hired counsellors against them, to frustrate their purpose, all the days of Koresh king of Persia, even until the reign of Dareyavesh king of Persia". EZRA V'NECHEMYAHU (EZRA) 4:1-5 את CEPHER

The scripture reveals that they frustrated their purpose all the days of king Cyrus (Koresh) and even king Darius (Dareyavesh) king of Persia.

The children of Israel did not have any rest from their sorrow as Jerusalem was later sieged in 70Ad by the Romans.

Please note that the books of Ezra were removed from the 1611 KJV. You will be able to read it from one of the restored scriptures.

Let us go further, and support this future declaration that was made in Isaiah 14:1-3 with another scripture in Isaiah 60:1-21. I invite you to read it on your own time.

However, this scripture backs up everything that I have just said. It reveals that upon Yahusha’s return, the Son of the Living Elohiym, other nations will come bringing gifts, the sons of the strangers will build the walls; Jerusalem’s gates will not be shut; violence will be no more in the land of Israel and Yahuah will be the everlasting light”.

Thus, the land of Israel will ONLY know peace when Yahusha returns. We see therefore, through the scriptures that the first three verses of Isaiah 14 is a future prophecy and future declaration of Yahuah, that has not yet been fulfilled.

Part 2 – The Blasphemous Words of this blasphemous king

In the previous section, we discovered that Yahuah starts Isaiah Chapter 14 by making a declaration of a future prophecy which pertains to the restoration of Israel and the time of peace in the land.

Now let us examine the blasphemous words of this blasphemous king in Isaiah Chapter 14:4-27. I invite you to read this in detail in your scriptures and also in the amplified version.

I love to include the ampc in my bible study as it is designed to convey the full meaning of the original Greek, Hebrew and Aramaic words and phrases of the scriptures.

In brief, this blasphemous king has:

- Ruled the world in anger

- Conquered nations

- Has a proud heart – as he said in his heart that he will ascend into heaven; exalt his throne above the stars of El; will sit on the Mount of the assembly in the sides of the North; ascend above the heights of the clouds; that he will be like El Elyon (the Most High)

However, these blasphemous words are nothing new. These words have also been conceived and uttered of old. I invite you to read the following scriptures.

Genesis 11: 1-9 and Jasher 9:20-39. Jasher was in the 1611 KJV and was ultimately removed, but it totally aligns with the account given in Genesis.

This is the time of the building of the Tower of Babel.

Genesis Chapter 11 reveals that the people said the following:

"And they said, go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto the heavens; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth". BERE'SHIYTH (GENESIS) 11:4 את CEPHER

However, the book of Jasher provides you with further insight. It tells you why they wanted to build a tower whose top may reach unto the heavens and the thoughts that were conceived in their heart.

"All the princes of Nimrod and his great men took counsel together; Put, Mitsrayim, Kush and Kena`an with their families, and they said to each other, Come let us build ourselves a city and in it a strong tower, and its top reaching heaven, and we will make ourselves famed, so that we may reign upon the whole world,

in order that the evil of our enemies may cease from us, that we may reign mightily over them, and that we may not become scattered over the earth on account of their wars. And they all went before the king, and they told the king these words, and the king agreed with them in this affair, and he did so.

And all the families assembled consisting of about six hundred thousand men, and they went to seek an extensive piece of ground to build the city and the tower, and they sought in the whole earth and they found none like one valley at the east of the land of Shin'ar, about two days' walk, and they journeyed there and they dwelt there.

And they began to make bricks and burn fires to build the city and the tower that they had imagined to complete.

And the building of the tower was unto them a transgression and a sin, and they began to build it, and while they were building against Yahuah Elohiym of heaven, they imagined in their hearts to war against him and to ascend into heaven.

And all these people and all the families divided themselves in three parts; the first said We will ascend into heaven and fight against him; the second said, We will ascend to heaven and place our own elohiym there and serve them; and the third part said,

We will ascend to heaven and smite him with bows and spears; and Elohiym knew all their works and all their evil thoughts, and he saw the city and the tower which they were building". YASHAR (JASHER) 9:21-26 את CEPHER

We have now gained a deeper understanding of why the building of this tower was a transgression unto them. As you read the full account in the book of Jasher you will notice that they people also imagined in their heart:

- To ascend into heaven

- Smite the Elohiym of the Heaven

- Place their own elohiym in the heaven and serve them

This is terrible and it warranted the direct intervention of Yahuah to destroy them. In like manner, you will soon discover, that Yahuah will also be personally involved in destroying the blasphemous king in Isaiah Chapter 14.

Before we proceed to the next section, it is important to also emphasize at this point that these blasphemous words and intent of the heart will also be conceived again by the anti-christ.

Revelations Chapter 13 tells us that the Anti-Christ will be given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemy against Elohiym, to blaspheme His Name and His Tabernacle and them that dwell in heaven” (Rev 13:1-6).

The point that I want to emphasize here is that these men, are men, whose working is the working of Satan. They are being used by Satan to do the most evil work, which is in total alignment with Satan’s evil desire.

Satan is evil and when he was created, he imagined the most evil thing.

"And for all the heavenly troops I imaged the image and essence of fire, and my eye looked at the very hard, firm rock, and from the gleam of my eye the lightening received its wonderful nature, which is both fire in water and water in fire, and one does not put out the other, nor does the one dry up the other, therefore the lightening is brighter than the sun, softer than water and firmer than hard rock.

And from the rock, I cut off a great fire, and from the fire I created the orders of the incorporeal ten troops of angels, and their weapons are fiery and their raiment a burning flame, and I commanded that each one should stand in his order.

Here Satanail with his angels was thrown down from the height. And one from the order of angels, having turned away with the order that was under him, conceived an impossible thought, to place his throne higher than the clouds above the earth, that he might become equal in rank to my power.

And I threw him out from the height with his angels, and he was flying in the air continuously above the bottomless" (Secrets of Enoch, pp91, Chapter 29)

Yahusha himself tells us that Satan was a murderer from the beginning (John 8:44). Remember, just hating your brother in your heart means that you have already murdered your brother.

Satan was infused with terrible hatred for the one who created him. The book of Enoch reveals that from Day One (1), he was casted down, that is, from the very beginning.

All these evil men are being used by Satan to blaspheme the very creator that today, he still hates.

Now, what is the prophecy that is given in Isaiah 14 about this blasphemous king?

- He will have a shameful death and will not be buried (Isaiah 14: 19-20)

- A slaughtering place is also prepared for his sons (Isaiah 14:21)

- Babylon will be destroyed (Isaiah 14: 22-23)

- Yahuah will break the Assyrian in His land and his yoke shall depart from Judah and his burden from their shoulders (Isaiah 14:25 ampc).

I hope that you took the time to read the chapter in full and also in the amplified version. Or at least, be sure to read them and the other scriptures cited here, when you have finished reading this article.

After reading the chapter, we can establish the following:

  1. It concerns Judah (v25)
  2. Judah is being troubled by a mighty ruler who has conquered nations (v5-6).
  3. The ruler is also a satanic king who has conceived blasphemy in his heart
  4. It is Yahuah who will break and destroy this satanic king (v5-25).
  5. He will have a shameful death and will not be buried (v19-20).
  6. The prediction was made in the year that King Ahaz (of Judah) died (v28).
  7. Philistia is told not to rejoice because the rod of Judah that smote her is broken, for out of the serpent’s root shall come forth an adder (cockatrice) and its offspring will be a fiery flying serpent (v29-31).
  8. The city of Babylon will be destroyed (v4; v22-23)

When I was engaging in the deep study of the scriptures by the guidance of the Ruach Ha’Qodesh (The Holy Spirit), I was led to discover that the key to unveiling the identity of this blasphemous king in Isaiah 14, was to first unravel this prophecy concerning the serpent and the fiery flying serpent’ (v29).

Part 3 – The Serpent and the Fiery Flying Serpent

I hope that you are excited as I am. I want to exalt the Most High who has given me His wisdom and guided me by His Spirit to bring this truth to you.

You are also blessed, because you are getting my study of the scriptures in a neat and orderly fashion. It was not the case at the time of this revelation.

Regarding the prophecy below, which was delivered at the time of King Ahaz (King of Judah’s) death, we need to answer FOUR questions:

  1. Who was King Ahaz?
  2. Who is the serpent?
  3. Who is the adder (cockatrice), the offspring that is the fiery flying serpent?
  4. What judgement did the serpent and its offspring (the adder) bring on the Philistines (Pelehsheth)?

"In the year that King Achaz died was this burden. Rejoice not, whole Pelehsheth, because the rod of him that smote you is broken: for out of the serpent's root shall come forth a cockatrice, and his fruit shall be a fiery flying serpent". YESHA'YAHU (ISAIAH) 14:28-29 את CEPHER

One of the things that have misled many reading this chapter is the following. Once they hear the word serpent, they instantly attach this to Satan; not understanding that he has been asked to take up a proverb.

Proverb comes from the Hebrew word mashal, strong’s concordance #4912.

This word can mean proverb (19x), parable (18x), byword (1x), like (1x).

A proverb is a short saying stating a general truth or advice. A parable is also a simple story used to illustrate a moral or spiritual lesson.

Who is this proverb against? - The King of Babel (Babylon)

What is he like? – He is a blasphemous and satanic king

We can therefore establish that this parable was pertaining to Judah based on verse 28 to 31.

So now we will therefore dive into the king of Judah (Ahaz) to unveil the serpent and its offspring.

Following my deep study, please refer to the chart below for the answer. I encourage you to also read the chapters in the amplified version.

Now, let us get our proof from the word of Elohiym.

(i) King Uzziah (Uzziyahu) was the rod of Judah, the serpent.

How did I establish that it was King Uzziah who was the serpent?

Well, when we read 2 Chronicles 26 it tells us that King Hezekiah is the serpent's offspring.  So, you trace back in the generation and you will be able to identify the serpent (King Uzziah) who also played a chief role in bringing judgement on the philistines.

Rejoice not, O, Philistia, all of you, because the rod (of Judah) that smote you is broken; for out of the serpent’s root shall come forth an adder (King Hezekiah of Judah), and its (the serpent’s) offspring will be a fiery flying serpent” (Isaiah 14:29 ampc).

I want to invite you to read 2 Chronicles 26:1-15. You will read about the greatness of King Uzziah. Do you know why he was great?

It is because Yahuah strengthened him and interestingly that is the meaning of his name. In Heberw, his name was Uzziyahu which means Strength of Yahuah.

He reigned over Judah for 52 years and did what was right in the sight of Yahuah, aside from his transgression ins his later days. He had a great army and he warred against the Philistines (Peleshtiym)

“He went out against the Philistines and broke down the walss of Gath, of Jabneh, and of Ashdod, and built cities near Asdod and elsewhere among the Philistines. And Yahuah helped him against the Philistines, and the Arabs who dwely in Gur-baal and the Meunim’ (2 Chronicles 26: 6-7 ampc)

King Uzziyahu had a son whose name was Jotham and Jotham’s son was Ahaz. You can read more about King Ahaz (Achaz) in the book of 2 chronicles 28. He also asked the king of Assyria for help against the Philistines.

It is important to note a few other connected events in the time King Ahaz’s reign over Judah. In the 12th year of his reign, Hoshea, the son of Elah began his 9-year reign in Samaria over Israel (2 Kings 17:1).

Hoshea who reigned over Israel did evil in the sight of Yahuah, although he was not as bad as the other Kings of Israel before him. Shalmaneser king of Assyria came up against him (Israel) because he refused to continue to pay him taxes and forged an alliance with Egypt.

So, the King of Assyria put him in prison. Shalmaneser then besieged Israel for three years until they were totally conquered.

All the prophecies spoken by the prophets were fulfilled and Israel was removed from Yahuah’s sight and was carried away from their land to Assyria. Only Judah was left. You can read more about the sins of Yashar’el (Israel) during Hoshea’s reign in 2 Kings 18: 8 to 23.

Now, the serpent had an offspring, three (3) kings down who indeed brought judgement on the Philistines. This offspring was described as a ‘fiery flying serpent’.

The serpent offspring, the adder or cockatrice in some versions is King Hezekiah.

Some more clarity and proof are found when reading the amplified (ampc) version.

“Rejoice not, O, Philistia, all of you, because the rod (of Judah) that smote you is broken; for out of the serpent’s root shall come forth an adder (King Hezekiah of Judah), and its (the serpent’s) offspring will be a fiery flying serpent” (Isaiah 14:29 ampc).

Yahuah then led me to research the fiery flying serpent. What are the qualities of the fiery flying or winged serpent?

One of its biggest qualities is that it can sense impending danger and warn those who can understand them.

So, what was the BIG WARNING that King Hezekiah gave? What was the impending danger?

But before we uncover the BIG WARNING, it is crucial to first understand the type of king that he was.

Let us begin by exploring the meaning of King Hezekiah’s real name.

His Hebrew name is Yechizqiyahu which means Strengthened of Yahuah.

Do you remember that his Great grandfather’s name meant ‘Strength of Yahuah’?

These two particular Kings were strengthened by Yahuah to execute Yah’s judgement on the Philistines.

To go into great depth about King Hezekiah, I am inviting you to read the following scriptures after reading this article, all of which I have read.

  • ·2 Kings 18
  • · 2 Kings 19
  • · 2 Chronicles 30
  • · 2 Chronicles 31
  • · 2 Chronicles 32

The scripture tells us that there was no King over Judah like King Hezekiah, none before or after him (2 Kings 18:5).

Scripture defines him as a great King who did what was right in the eyes of Yahuah.

To really gain the identity of the blasphemous king in Isaiah chapter 14, we need to properly understand Hezekiah’s reign.

Let us examine just a few scriptures among many about King Hezekiah.

"And he did that which was right in the sight of Yahuah, according to all that David his father did. He removed the high places, and broke the images, and cut down the Asherah poles, and broke in pieces the brasen serpent that Mosheh had made: for unto those days the children of Yashar'el did burn incense to it: and he called it Nechushtan. MELEKIYM SHENIY (2 KINGS) 18:3-4 את CEPHER

"He trusted in Yahuah Elohai (Yahuah my Elohiym) of Yashar'el (Israel); so that after him was none like him among all the kings of Yahudah (Judah), nor any that were before him.

For he clave to Yahuah, and departed not from following him, but guarded his commandments, which Yahuah commanded Mosheh (Moses)". MELEKIYM SHENIY (2 KINGS) 18:5-6 את CEPHER

There is one thing, among many that Hezekiah did which pleased Yahuah and caused his prayer to ascend to Yah in heaven. You see, there were many kings of Israel who did evil in the sight of Yahuah, and some were worse than others.

Did you know that due to the wickedness of these kings, they caused Israel and Judah to sin and not follow Yahuah’s commandments and to observe his feasts.

For mankind, Yahuah’s feast may mean nothing to them, but to Yahuah, this is the appointed time with his people.

Well, during King Hezekiah’s reign, he reinstated the feasts of Yah, and then went on a serious mission to destroy the idolatry in Israel and Judah. Although, Israel was already taken into captivity, he returned to Jerusalem on a mission for Yahuah.

He called all the remnant of Israel together and Judah and warned them not to ignore the calling to come and keep Yahuah’s feasts and to begin to follow the way of Yahuah. (2 Chronicles 30:1-13).

They broke down the altars and the idolatry in Jerusalem (2 Chronicles 30:14) and joyfully kept Yahuah’s feast.

I invite you to turn to the book of Chronicles Chapter 30 and 31. You must read this chapter in full to get a full understanding and deep appreciation of what king Hezekiah did and what that meant to Yahuah.

"Hezekiah sent to all Israel [as well as] Judah and wrote letters also to Ephraim and Manasseh to come to the Yahuah's house at Jerusalem to keep the Passover to the Yahuah, the Elohiym of Israel.

For the king and his princes and all the assembly in Jerusalem took counsel to keep the Passover in the [a]second month.

For they could not keep it at the set time because not enough priests had sanctified themselves, neither had the people assembled in Jerusalem. The new time pleased the king and all the assembly.

So they decreed to make a proclamation throughout all Israel, from Beersheba to Dan, that the people should come to keep the Passover to Yahuah, the Elohiym of Israel, at Jerusalem.

For they had not kept it collectively as prescribed for a long time" (2 Chronicles 30:1-5)

Hezekiah prayed and Yahuah answered his prayer. (2 Chronicles:18-20) and they celebrated the Feast of Matstsah (Unleavened Bread) for 14 days and offered great sacrifices to Yahuah (v21-24).

This pleased Yahuah so much, that their prayers ascended to his holy habitation.

"So, there was great joy in Jerusalem, for since the time of Solomon son of David king of Israel there was nothing like this in Jerusalem.

Then the priests and Levites arose and blessed the people; and their voice was heard and their prayer came up to [Yahuah’s] holy habitation in heaven" (2 Chronicles 20:26-27 ampc).

This was not a light thing in the eyes of Yahuah. Hezekiah then destroyed the idolatry in all the land and reinstated the Levitical priesthood (2 Chronicles 31:1-2).

"Now when all this was finished, all Israel present there went out to the cities of Judah and broke in pieces the pillars or obelisks, cut down the Asherim, and threw down the high places [of idolatry] and the altars in all Judah and Benjamin, in Ephraim and Manasseh, until they had utterly destroyed them all. Then all the Israelites returned to their own cities, every man to his possession (2 Chronicles 31:1).

And every work that he began in the service of the house of Yahuah, in keeping with the law and the commandments to seek Yahuah [inquiring of and yearning for Him], he did with all his heart, and he prospered" (2 Chronicles 31:21).

Hezekiah also executed Yah’s judgement on the Philistines.

"And Yahuh was with Hezekiah; he prospered wherever he went. And he rebelled against the king of Assyria and refused to serve him.

He smote the Philistines, even to Gaza [the most distant city] and its borders, from the [isolated] watchtower to the [populous] fortified city". (2 Kings 18:8 ampc)

Prophecy fulfilled:

The above discourse reveals the fulfilment of the prophecy spoken in Isaiah Chapter 14 about the serpent and the adder.

However, it is only fulfilled in part here. That is, the judgement on the Philistines. The fiery flying serpent also warns of impending danger.

You are now going to discover the impending danger, the BIG WARNING, that the offspring (adder, cockatrice) was prophesied to give.

This requires a consideration of a key turning point during the reign of King Hezekiah, King of Judah. A particular king emerged and placed a heavy yoke on Judah’s neck.

This king was a terrible and blasphemous king and is the one who is being spoken about in Isaiah Chapter 14. Let us now dive into the truth of Alahiym's word.

Part 4 – The blasphemous king, whom the KJV termed Lucifer, revealed

As I progressed in my deep bible study, I have come to learn that Yahuah takes very seriously what goes on in Israel and how His people are treated.

At the early start of King Hezekiah’s reign, Israel was taken into captivity by King Shalmaneser of Assyria (2 Kings 18:11).

Later on, another King of Assyria came on the scene and he was worse than the king before. With Israel brought down, he has set his eyes on Judah. He is king Sennacherib.

What is important to understand here is that King Hezekiah is reigning at a time of a fallen Israel. Israel was captured by a previous king of Assyria, and now another king of Assyria is coming to capture Judah which is at the 14th year reign of King Hezekiah (2 Kings 18:13).

At first, he instituted a tax on Judah, of which Hezekiah even took gold from the doors of the temple to pay him (2 Kings 18: 13-16). But then King Hezekiah, rebelled against the king Sennacherib (2 Kings 18:17).

What is notable here about King Sennacherib is that this is no ordinary king. He conquered nations around about. He was a king that was feared by all.

Now he encamped around Judah to conquer Judah and Hezekiah was locked in (2 Chronicles 32:1-6)

"After these things and this loyalty, Sennacherib king of Assyria came, invaded Judah, and encamped against the fortified cities, thinking to take them.

When Hezekiah saw that Sennacherib had come and intended to fight against Jerusalem. He decided with his officers and his mighty men to stop up the waters of the fountains which were outside the city [by enclosing them with masonry and concealing them], and they helped him" (2 Chronicles 32:1-3 ampc).

But remember that Isaiah (Chapter 14:29) describes the offspring of Uzziah as the fiery flying serpent.

Remember one of the qualities of the fiery flying serpent is to warn of impending danger.

So, what was the impending danger?

It was at the time when king Sennacherib encamped against the fortified cities of Judah and then sent his men with a warning.

Here is the warning that the adder, fiery flying serpent gave to the people of Israel.

“Also, Hezekiah took courage and built up all the wall that was broken, and raised towers upon it, and he built another wall outside and strengthened the Milo in the City of David and made weapons and shields in abundance.

And he set captains of war over the people and gathered them together to him in the street of the gate of the city and spoke encouragingly to them, saying, Be strong and courageous.

Be not afraid or dismayed before the king of Assyria and all the horde that is with him, for there is Another with us greater than [all those] with him.

With him is an arm of flesh, but with us is Yahuah Elohaynu (Yahuah our Elohiym) to help us and to fight our battles.

And the people relied on the words of Hezekiah king of Judah" (2 Chronicles 32:5-8)

Hezekiah encouraged the people to trust in Yahuah for he it is that will fight their battles for them. Well, king Sennacherib was not happy about those words of encouragement inviting the people to trust in the Most High Elohiym.

I am deliberately going to insert the blasphemous words of king Sennacherib here, so you can grasp this revelation by the Ruach Ha’Qodesh.

“And this Sennacherib king of Assyria, while he himself with all his forces was before Lachish, sent his servants to Jerusalem, to Hezekiah king of Judah, and to all Judah who were at Jerusalem, saying,

Thus says Sennacherib king of Assyria: On what do you trust, that you remain in the strongholds in Jerusalem?

Is not Hezekiah leading you on in order to let you die by famine and thirst, saying, Yahuah Elohaynu (Yahuah our Elohiym) will deliver us out of the hand of the king of Assyria?" (2 Chronicles 32:9-11)

“Do you not know what I and my fathers have done to all the peoples of other lands? Were the elohiym of the nations of those lands in any way able to deliver their lands out of my hand?

Who among all the elohiym of those nations that my fathers utterly destroyed was able to deliver his people out of my hand, that your Elohiym should be able to deliver you out of my hand?

So now, do not let Hezekiah deceive or mislead you in this way, and do not believe him, for no elohiym of any nation or kingdom was able to deliver his people out of my hand or the hand of my fathers. How much less will your Elohiym deliver you out of my hand!

And his servants said still more against the Yahuah Elohiym and against His servant Hezekiah.

The Assyrian king also wrote letters insulting Yahuah Elohiym of Israel, and speaking against Him, saying, As the elohiym of the nations of other lands have not delivered their people out of my hand, so shall not the Elohym of Hezekiah deliver His people out of my hand.

And they shouted it loudly in the Jewish language to the people of Jerusalem who were on the wall, to frighten and terrify them, that they might take the city. And they spoke of the Elohiym of Jerusalem as they spoke of the elohiym of the peoples of the earth, which are the work of the hands of men.

For this cause Hezekiah the king and the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz prayed and cried to heaven". (2 Chronicles 32:13-20)

Saints, the words uttered by Sennacherib were high level blasphemy and this kind of blasphemy merited the intervention of Yahuah himself, just as he did in the days of Nimrod.

You can also read the account given in 2 Kings 18: 17-37. It provides even further detail of the insult to Yahuah and threats from king Sennacherib. I must insert these few passages for your understanding.

"Thus says the king: Let not Hezekiah deceive you. For he will not be able to deliver you out of my hand. Nor let Hezekiah make you trust in and rely on the El-Yahuah, saying, Yahuah will surely deliver us, and this city will not be given into the hand of Assyria’s king.

Hearken not to Hezekiah, for thus says the king of Assyria: Make your peace with me and come out to me, and eat every man from his own vine and fig tree and drink every man the waters of his own cistern,

Until I come and take you away to a land like your own, a land of grain and vintage fruit, of bread and vineyards, of olive trees and honey, that you may live and not die.

Do not listen to Hezekiah when he urges you, saying, Yahuah will deliver us. Has any one of the elohai (elohiym) of the nations ever delivered his land out of the hand of the king of Assyria?

Where are the elohai (elohiym) of Hamath and Arpad [in Syria]? Where are the elohai (elohiym) of Sepharvaim, Hena, and Ivvah [in the Euphrates Valley]? Have they delivered Samaria [Israel’s capital] out of my hand? "

Who of all the elohai (elohiym) of the countries has delivered his country out of my hand, that the Yahuah should deliver Jerusalem out of my hand?

But the people were silent and answered him not a word, for Hezekiah had commanded, Do not answer him.

Then Eliakim son of Hilkiah, who was over the royal household, and Shebna the scribe, and Joah son of Asaph the recorder came to Hezekiah with their clothes rent, and told him what the Rabshakeh had said" (2 Kings 18: 29-37ampc)

When King Hezekiah and Prophet Isaiah prayed (2 Kings 19), Yahuah answered their prayer and stated that he is going to break this Assyrian King himself (2 Kings 19: 32-34; Isaiah 14: 25).

King Hezekiah’s prayer was a beautiful prayer but it also reveals even further words of this blasphemous king (2 Kings 19). I invite you to read his prayer for it provides very deep context and a proper understanding of what is taking place.

Take a look at some of the excerpts from this prayer.

"When King Hezekiah heard it, he rent his clothes and covered himself with sackcloth and went into the house of the Yahuah.

And he sent Eliakim, who was over his household, Shebna the scribe, and the older priests, covered with sackcloth, to Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz.

They said to him, Hezekiah says: This is a day of [extreme danger and] distress, of rebuke and chastisement, and blasphemous and insolent insult; for children have come to the birth, and there is no strength to bring them forth.

It may be that the Yahuah Elohayka (Yahuah your Elohiym) will hear all the words of the Rabshakeh, whom the king of Assyria has sent to mock, reproach, insult, and defy the living Elohiym, and will rebuke the words which Yahuah Elohayka (Yahuah your Elohiym) has heard.

So, raise your prayer for the remnant [of His people] that is left" (2 Kings 19:1-4 ampc).

Yahuah heard the prayer and he sent word to King Hezekiah by his prophet Isaiah.

We must fully understand what it means to utter such terrible words of blasphemy. Yahuah decided that he was going to deal with this instead.

He proclaimed his judgement (2 Kings 19:20-37).

"Whom have you mocked and reviled and insulted and blasphemed? Against Whom have you raised your voice and haughtily lifted your eyes? Against the Holy One of Israel!

By your messengers you have mocked, reproached, insulted, and defied Yahuah, and have said, With my many chariots I have gone up to the heights of the mountains, to the far recesses of Lebanon.

I cut down its tall cedar trees and its choicest cypress trees. I entered its most distant retreat, its densest forest.

I dug wells and drank foreign waters, and with the sole of my feet have I dried up all [the defense and] the streams of Egypt.

[But, says the Yahuah of Israel] Have you not heard how I ordained long ago what now I have brought to pass? I planned it in olden times, that you [king of Assyria] should [be My instrument to] lay waste fortified cities, making them ruinous heaps.

That is why their inhabitants had little power, they were dismayed and confounded; they were like plants of the field, the green herb, the grass on the housetops, blasted before it is grown up.

But [O Sennacherib] I [Yahuah] know your sitting down, your going out, your coming in, and your raging against Me.

Because your raging against Me and your arrogance and careless ease have come to My ears, therefore I will put My hook in your nose and My bridle in your lips, and I will turn you back by the way you came, O king of Assyria". (2 Kings 19:22-28 ampc)

Later on in the scripture, we see that Yahuah sent his angel into the camp of Sennacherib and ONE angel slew 185,000 of his men. When they awoke in the morning, they were surrounded by their dead. (2 Kings 19:32-35).

"Therefore thus says Yahuah concerning the king of Assyria: He shall not come into this city or shoot an arrow here or come before it with shield or cast up a siege mound against it.

By the way that he came, by that way shall he return, and he shall not come into this city, says Yahuah.

For I will defend this city to save it, for My own sake and for My servant David’s sake.

And it all came to pass, for that night the [a]Angel of the Yahuah went forth and slew 185,000 in the camp of the Assyrians; and when [the living] arose early in the morning, behold, all these were dead bodies". (2 Kings 19:32-35 ampc)

This fulfils the judgement spoken on the blasphemous King in Isaiah Chapter 14:25 that he will break the Assyrian in his land.

"That I will break the Assyrian in My land, and upon My mountains I will tread him underfoot. Then shall the [Assyrian’s] [d]yoke depart from [the people of Judah], and his burden depart from their shoulders". (Isaiah 14:25 ampc)

As revealed through the word of Elohiym, the blasphemous King in Isaiah Chapter 14 is king Sennacherib, whom the KJV has termed Lucifer.

Now, someone will say that the prophecy started about the king of Babylon and then ended about breaking the Assyrian hand (Isaiah 14).

Well, I was shocked to discover that the King of Assyria, was also the King of Babylon because he captured Babylon, though it was not a peaceful occupation.

You can see the proof HERE.

The Cast of a rock relief of Sennacherib from the foot of Mount Judi, near Cizre cites King Sennacherib as:

- King of Assyria

- King of Babylon

- King of the Four Corners of the World

- King of the Universe

So, the blasphemous King in Isaiah Chapter 14 is king Sennacherib.

The destruction prophesied for the king of Babylon in Isaiah Chapter 14 refers to King Sennacherib.  King Sennacherib also had a shameful death as is stated in v15-20.

He was killed by his very own sons as he worshipped in the temple of his false elohiym. (2 Kings 18: 36: -37).

After Yahuah sent his angel and killed 185,000 of his men in one night, he departed and returned to Nineveh.

“So, Sennacherib king of Assyria departed and returned and dwelt at Nineveh.

And as he was worshiping in the house of Nisroch his god, Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons killed him with the sword, and they escaped to the land of Armenia or Ararat. Esarhaddon his son reigned in his stead”

Here are some important readings about King Sennacherib and Judah which you must read.

- Hezekiah commands the people to trust in Yahuah -

2 Chronicles 32: 1 – 8

- Prophecies about king of Assyria (Sennacherib) - Isaiah 10: 1 – 34; (AMPC)

- The boast and blasphemy of Sennacherib – 2 Chronicles 32: 1 -22

- Prophecy of this king of Assyria fulfilled – 2 Kings 19:15-35 (ampc)

So, we can see from scripture that the blasphemous king in Isaiah Chapter 14 is king Sennacherib.

Throughout the ages, we have believed that this was about Satan whom the KJV refers to here as Lucifer.

However, we were simply repeating what we have always been told and framed to think.

So, why was the name Lucifer inserted in Isaiah Chapter 14?

Part 5 – Where did the term Lucifer come from?

You will be surprised to learn that Lucifer is the Latin translation for the Hebrew word ‘heylel’. Lucifer was given as the proper name for the king of Babylon by the translators.

It was the translators who inserted it into the scriptures. In Latin, the term light bearer is lucifero. The King James translators rendered the Hebrew term in English and kept it as a proper noun ‘Lucifer’ for the devil.

Doing this has caused lots of misinterpretations of scripture. However, when you understand the scripture, the blasphemous king was being mocked by Yahuah.

It was a proverb being lifted up against him to demonstrate how high this king has fallen because of his high level of blasphemy against the Most High Elohiym.  He faced a similar fate to 'the adversary, Satan' who was cast down to the earth because of his blasphemy.

Moreover, the tipping point for "Lucifer" actually came in 1667, when John Milton used that as the devil's name in Paradise Lost.

Many Christians would probably be surprised to find that their "Lucifer" terminology owes more to a British epic poem than it does to the very scriptures that we believe in.

As I researched on John Milton’s work, I discovered that his work is used heavily by the Freemasons.

His work can be found in one of their documents called Darkness Visible in which they adopt some of his precepts for their ritual at the third degree in which the ‘light of a master mason is darkness visible’.

We do not need to comprehend this deception, but to only understand that we have inherited lies (Jeremiah 16:19).

In the final section, we will address the fulfilment of the final part of prophecy in Isaiah Chapter 14.

Part 6 – City of Babylon Destroyed

Isaiah 14:22 tells us of Babylon’s destruction.

However, you may be surprised to learn that this lamentation that was taken up about Babylon did not start in Isaiah Chapter 14 only.

We can refer to the previous chapter where it was foretold that Babylon’s destruction would come at the hands of the Medes and Persians.

"The mournful, inspired prediction (a burden to be lifted up) concerning Babylon which Isaiah son of Amoz saw [with prophetic insight]: Raise up a signal banner upon the high and bare mountain, summon them [the Medes and Persians] with loud voice and beckoning hand that they may enter the gates of the [Babylonian] nobles.

I Myself [says Yahuah] have commanded My designated ones and have summoned My mighty men to execute My anger, even My proudly exulting ones [the Medes and Persians]—those who are made to triumph for My honor" (Isaiah 13:1-3 ampc)

When you continue to read the chapter, v8 talks about the terror that shall come upon the people of Babylon.

King Cyrus also had a crucial role in the destruction of Babylon (Jeremiah 50) and his eventual role in the return of Judah to Jerusalem and initiating the building of the second temple (Isaiah 44 & 45).

I was surprised to also learn that Babylon today is now a city of ruins.

As we come to a close, I wish to emphasize that there is nonetheless a double prophecy being spoken in Isaiah Chapter 14 about Babylon.

"Take up this proverb against the king of Babylon and say how hath the oppressor ceased! The golden city ceased …

The whole earth is at rest and is quiet; they break forth into singing" (Isaiah 14: 4-7)

The book of revelations tells us of the total annihilation of Babylon and the doom that shall overtake her (Revelations 18:1-24).

Babylon is known for her strong idolatry, sumptuous living, rich in trade. Yahuah has a day planned for the total annihilation of the mystery.

Babylon that has slaughtered the prophets and the saints and her streets that have been wrenched with their blood.

The identity of this city is for another lesson.

Conclusion

I hope that this article has enlightened you as the truth has been revealed according to scripture.

The word ‘heylel’ was rendered as the proper name Lucifer by the translators in error.

They did not understand the context of what was being transpired in the scriptures.  This chapter was not about Satan, but rather an evil and wicked man that was being used by Satan.

This blasphemous king was being mocked my Yahuah, as we saw in the scriptures, because he exalted himself above every elohiym and they are no elohiym at all. But above all, he exalted himself against Yahuah, the Elohiym of Israel, creator of heaven and of earth; just as Satan imagined in his heart.  This is not a light thing!!!

Isaiah Chapter 14 was actually speaking about king Sennacherib whose army Yahuah destroyed himself and sent ONE ANGEL who killed 185,000 and removed the yoke from Judah’s neck and Judah’s captivity and downfall did not come in the time of King Hezekiah as Yahuah later promised in subsequent events happening in the life of King Hezekiah (2 Chronicles 32:26).

For many persons, cognitive dissonance may step in because they are now receiving information contrary to what they have always been taught.

However, I invite everyone reading this article to pray to the Heavenly Father for guidance and go back through these scriptures yourself and submit to the RUACH (Spirit) of truth.

Thank you very much for reading. I invite you to share this with the fellow saints that they may walk in truth and to not continue in the deception that this evil and wicked king in Isaiah Chapter 14 was all about Satan.

Rather this wicked king has been made so by Satan’s very own deception.

Shalom! Shalom!
